This place looks awesome. I have been looking for a long time to find the perfect family vacation spot. This may just be it.

Friends of ours went , and we heard that we need to rent a boat for the week, in order to keep the fun going all week long.

They recommended the Deep Creek marina....they had rented from them before, and said the service and the boats were top-notch.

Are there places to eat nearby? Or is it like renting log cabins in the wilderness?

My husband is not the "out-doorsy" type is it close to civilazation?

Since we took the right path, in our trip, above you can see our first stop was on top of a large rock overlooking the Upper Swallow Falls. The picture below shows the downstream off of this large rock and the winding rapids in which the water quickly passes. The rocks are very slippery, but are safe for all ages to walk out onto and take in the breathtaking view of the river. Heading back to the trail, we went towards Tolliver Falls.
SIC-in light of all the Swallow Falls site accidents & deaths over the years!
